JENNIFER HUGHSON
ABOUT
Jennifer Hughson is a vibrant clarinetist and bass clarinetist who regularly performs throughout the Eastern seaboard. Ms. Hughson joined the Morgan State faculty in 2019 teaching applied clarinet lessons. She has also taught at the Peabody Conservatory and maintains a private studio throughout the Baltimore area.
Ms. Hughson currently holds positions in the Washington Chamber Orchestra, the Mind on Fire New Music Ensemble and the Liberty Wind Symphony. She has also played with the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, the American Pops Orchestra, the Mid-Atlantic Symphony and the NakedEye New Music Ensemble. While playing many genres of music, Ms. Hughson has premiered and recorded many new commissions from living composers throughout the United States and abroad.
Ms. Hughson received her Bachelor of Music degree in Clarinet Performance from Indiana University and her Master of Music degree in Clarinet Performance from the Peabody Conservatory, studying with Howard Klug and Steven Barta, respectively.

I play clarinet and bass clarinet throughout the Eastern seaboard in a variety of genres! From new music to musicals and wind ensembles, orchestras and solo and chamber work I would love to play for you! I also maintain a private studio in the Baltimore/DC metro area where I would love to teach you or your child!
